Freaks have levels now

Ulysse Nardin play a bit of horological Dante with several levels of Freaks and it is bizzarely fascinating

First there was the Freak, then the Freak X, followed by the Freak X Carbonium and today we see the Freak X Carbononium Gold. Of course, this is the Freak X Carbonium Gold The Hour Glass as it is in honour of major watch retailer The Hour Glass.

Manufactured in Le Locle, Switzerland with a matte-finish champagne color movement and a carbonium gold “bran-card” framework, the Limited Edition of just 30 pieces, is a celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Hour Glass.
“We feel honored at Ulysse Nardin to be part of the most prestigious and trusted jewelers in South East Asia and Australia, carrying the world’s finest watch brands in its portfolio and offering Ulysse Nardin a unique retail podium and - for watch lovers - an exceptional, luxury environment in which to discover our creations” said Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Ulysse Nardin.

“The Hour Glass is a key player in the region. A major retailer and expert, it has a deep understanding of Swiss leading luxury watchmakers like Ulysse Nardin and a true passion for objects of beauty and innovation. While South East Asia has become a hub for watches in the past decades, the Freak models became iconic in the region too. We see more and more youngsters wearing Freak watches from Ulysse Nardin in the streets.” Pruniaux concludes.

In 2013, Ulysse Nardin had already developed a Limited-Edition Freak watch with The Hour Glass. Paying tribute to both partners’ strong ties, this new iteration is a cool & fresh version of the brand’s novelty FREAK X, launched last January 2019 in Geneva. With a strong design and technology that defies expectation, it is an imposing, magnificent timepiece.
