Can Harley Quinn be an Ambassador?



It's not surprising that Australian beauty Margot Robbie has been tapped to be a brand ambassador. But rather than a brand perceived as feminine, she's gone with Richard Mille! So it's one bombshell sporting another bombshell.  The official release is rather blocky, stating - 'The watchmaker and Robbie are to collaborate on a range of timepieces that are to convey the actress’s modern femininity and creative sensitivity.'



I find this a tad bit amusing. Doing movie reviews as I do, I can tell you that Robbie is a bit of a force of nature in person. The role of Harley Quinn was not a big deal among WB execs when they were mooting Suicide Squad. But once they cast the actress and then when the movie released, it became very clear who was the focus. Though the movie was a bit hit and miss, it did have Will Smith and Cara Delevingne onboard; not exactly pushovers for attention.


Anyway, with the behemoth blockbuster that is Wonder Woman and with WB and DC already agreeing to give Robbie control of a standalone Harley Quinn movie, being stablemates - it is only a matter of time before Daddy's Lil' Monster faces off against the Princess of Themyscira. And who benefits from such an epic encounter? Richard Mille timepieces and the other brands supporting Robbie.



“I am really excited to join the Richard Mille family,” Robbie said in a press statement on the occasion. “I have always admired the brand’s artistry and innovation. The watch we are working on embodies Richard Mille’s vision of horology; it’s beautiful, unique and modern. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.” The proceeds from the intended collection are to go to the Youngcare foundation, which empowers and equips young Aussies with high-care needs to lead a life of independence and dignity. Known for her role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street alongside Oscar laureate Leonardo DiCaprio, Robbie joined a handful of famed sportswomen who make up Richard Mille’s network of high-profile partners. She is only the second actress to become part of the label’s family, which has included Chinese Malaysian film star Michele Yeoh since 2011.
