If Harry Potter can…
Do you ever wish for some kind of magical power or with all the comic book movies out over the past few years, super powers? It’d be cool wouldn’t it? We wouldn’t necessarily fight for the greater good but we would certainly, each of us, have lots of fun. In a very realistic and pragmatic way, that’s what Frederique Constant is trying to give us. The Horological Smartwatch for Ladies is a kind of magic wand for the girls. The lads have already had over a year with the Smartwatch and its app, so no complaints here!
Why is this a kind of magic, for me at least? First and foremost, any superhero worth your time has a secret identity. Notice only the villains don’t give a damn about who they really are? And with this Horological Smartwatch collection, you stay classy and elegant. I’m not suggesting that any of the fitness trackers on the market are ugly but let’s be honest; they ‘look’ like fitness wear. That’s all great if you don’t care (you’re a villain, congrats!) but having your fitness tracker hiding in between your bangles and/or bracelets is kind of awkward.
But full disclosure, I’m a regular guy, the kind of bloke the ladies and tramps at several well known women’s magazines call the ‘straightest man in the office’! So what do I know about accessorizing!
But Gwyneth Paltrow showed up!…
So in early 2016 Frederique Constant (FC) partnered with Academy Award winning actress and philanthropist, Gwyneth Paltrow; as its new Global Charity Brand Ambassador. As part of the campaign, Gwyneth chose to align with charity organization, DonorsChoose.org, involved in supporting education for children, making it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, whether it is through books, school supplies or funding field trips.
So for this event, FC and Gwyneth invited young students from the DonorsChoose.org program to attend a private fitness class hosted by the actress along with celebrity fitness trainer, Tracy Anderson. Held at the exclusive new venue Spring Studios, in New York City, the class was a high energy moment where Aletta Stas-Bax (co-owner of FC) and Gwyneth encouraged guests to join with them in the “1’000 Steps Challenge” in support of DonorsChoose.org.
The challenge implied completing 1,000 steps under 10 minutes for a special donation to be made to the DonorsChoose.org organization. During the challenge, Gwyneth wore the new Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch for Ladies connected to a large video screen; this displayed the watch’s key functions and the actress’s real time fitness activity details. Gwyneth Paltrow says, “Frederique Constant is a company that inspires me because it creates high quality watches but also gives back to the community. I really responded to the values of the brand.”
And about the Horological Smartwatch Collection…
For the first time, FC has introduced five new Ladies models as well as presenting five completely redesigned men’s versions. For this latest novelty, the recognizable sub-dial which is used to display the date and the “activity tracking” percentage opens up; the focus shifts to the 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock positions which reveal its newest features: call notifications, sleep monitoring, activity tracking, and text notifications, respectively.
The Swiss brand gives you a feminine look with intricate detailed dials featuring guilloché decoration, various mother of pearl accents; applied Roman numeral indexes; and white diamonds. Three of the models come in an all steel offering. The last two in an elegant combination of steel and rose gold-plated bracelets. MMT SwissConnect designed the Ladies MMT-281 quartz module at a smaller scale to fit the more feminine, elegant 34mm case. The battery life for this module is around two years.
